Harry Kane ends Everton criticism after Abdoulaye Doucoure red card incident

Harry Kane has hit back at criticism over his theatrical reaction to Abdoulaye Doucoure's red card, insisting he has no regrets about the incident.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker became the center of attention after the final whistle in last week's 1-1 draw at Goodison Park after falling to the ground after feeling Doucoure's hand on his face. The Everton midfielder could not complain about his sacking but Kane's actions were seen as disappointing to behold.

Sean Dyche made his feelings clear about the England international's slump to the pitch, reacting angrily from the sidelines after seeing the striker assure him it would be an easy decision for referee David Coote to make.

Lighting up the situation at his press conference last week, the Everton boss joked that he feared Doucoure had 'broken an eyelash' for Kane and made it clear he was not apologizing to the midfielder.

Much has been said about the Spurs' all-time leading scorer in recent days, but Kane himself has insisted he has not allowed all the outside noise to become a distraction. Speaking after his side's 1-0 win over Brighton on Saturday, the 29-year-old said: "I'm fine. I didn't hear anyone say it wasn't a red card.

Blues backed to make Dembele move

Former Everton striker Louis Saha has already told his former club they should consider a move for Moussa Dembele this summer.

(Video) Kean Linked With Inter | Everton News Daily

The Lyon forward remains linked with the Blues as he nears the end of his contract with his current club, making him a free agent unless further terms are agreed.

Explaining earlier this year why a switch to Dembele would make sense, Saha saidMister Ping:

Dembele is a good player and I think he can have a big impact in the Premier League. He's come through a lot of clubs over the last few years and I don't like it when players move too often, but his profile could fit what Everton needs. He's strong in the air, competitive on the ball and a good finisher, but he needs to play every week and not get injured like Calvert-Lewin."

Dyche faces Everton's biggest dilemma as the Man United issue becomes clear

Sean Dyche claimed thin margins were to blame for his team's defeat at Manchester United, but with the absence of Abdoulaye Doucoure creating a huge void in the center of the pitch, the Everton manager must now assess whether the 4-4-2 formation which was his tactical foundation, forging his reputation for nearly a decade at Burnley can be deployed effectively with the Blues.

After the 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford, which could easily have been a much heavier, costly reversal both in terms of goal difference and morale, had it not been for the brilliance of Everton's goal by England's number one Jordan Pickford , Dyche said: “Many have slightly lowered their performance levels today. There were a number that played really well, but being a little off is enough when you come to places like this.”

That may have been the case, but the numbers suggest that the difference between the sides was far more emphatic. Despite being only 1-0 up at half-time, the 21 shots Manchester United took against Everton in the first 45 minutes were the most recorded in the first half of a Premier League game since Opta started collecting such data in season 2003/2003. 04 season.

Joaquin Correa linked

Everon is being linked with a move for Inter Milan striker Joaquin Correa, who only signed for the Italian giants last summer.

The Argentine has been limited to just six Serie A appearances this season and has failed to match the heights witnessed during his loan spell at Inter the previous season.

Recent performances have reportedly 'pushed' the player closer to an exit, with the acceptance that Correa's time at San Siro 'is over'.

A report from Italystated that Everton are "the most plausible club on paper" for the 28-year-old, having shown an interest in the player two years ago, making a "concrete offer" for his services.

Everton transfer position on Conor Coady and out-of-contract players

No decision has been taken on Conor Coady's long-term future at Everton.

The club could trigger an option to buy the defender before he returns to parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers where he is currently on loan. Coady was ever-present under Frank Lampard and a permanent deal seemed inevitable during his tenure.

But the 30-year-old lost his place under Sean Dyche, who has put his faith in Michael Keane.

For Dyche, protecting Everton's Premier League status is the priority and he said the contractual status of Coady and other players nearing the end of their deals was not yet his focus.

Dembélé a 'real option' for the Blues

The Blues were linked with a transfer for Dembele in January and again in recent weeks as the former Fulham striker nears the end of his Lyon contract.

A final report byGMSexplained that the 26-year-old is a realistic target if Everton remain in the Premier League, although 'a number of clubs' are also interested in the Frenchman.

Dele Alli ends season by returning to Everton from Besiktas loan

Dele Alli is believed to have played his last game for Besiktas.

The midfielder has been given permission to return to the UK after picking up an injury at the Super Lig club. Sean Dyche confirmed he was aware of the 26-year-old's return to Everton after being asked about him following their defeat to Manchester United.

An initial assessment is understood to have led doctors to believe he will be unavailable for the rest of the season due to a muscle injury.

Dele went through a difficult loan spell in Türkiye. He has made 13 appearances and scored twice since his move in August but last played for Besiktas in February and manager Senol Gunes' comments only added to the allegations of a broken relationship.

Dyche was asked about reports of Dele returning to the UK following Everton's 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon. He said: "He's just getting some treatment - he's injured at the moment". The Blues boss reiterated that he was under contract with Besiktas.

He was given an initial recovery estimate of eight to 10 weeks. If this is true, he will have played his last match with Besiktas. The former England international still has a year left on his contract with Everton after signing a two-and-a-half-year deal in the waning hours of the January 2022 transfer window.
