My concierge at the counter, Faye, was the real winner. She was polite and efficient and personable. When her assistants in the parking lot couldn't seem to give her the correct vehicle VIN that matched her computer record (she asked at least 5 times for them to forward the correct number to no avail - the last 2 of her requests even went unanswered ☹️) - so Faye took matters into her own hands. After waiting 15 minutes for her assistants to finish their job, Faye dropped her altogether and increased my rent herself so I could move on in time to do my father's funeral. Faye's assistant pilots may need an overhaul and a little more training - but FAYE WAS OUTSTANDING AND MAKES MY WHOLE JOURNEY EASY - and even stylishly comfortable. Faye deserves a BONUS/raise!!

The Herz office where we booked our car through Kayak had no cars available. They said a "bug" in the system allowed cars to be booked through Kayak and other consolidators even though no cars were available even at the time of booking. It was a terrible situation that should never have happened. Kayak must work with Herz to fix the problem. I am not inclined to ever use Kayak again. We couldn't get a car at the last minute and had to cancel our plans.

Some confusion about pickup location when booking online. Hannah and in particular Shelsey were extremely helpful and went out of their way to complete the reservation at the RSW airport location. Unfortunately our first rental halfway through our lease showed caution with engine maintenance so we had to return it for a replacement. The staff at RDW Airport again handled the transaction efficiently.

Payless airport staff rude. No car rental shuttle from RSW airport. Had to use Lyft which increased rental costs. Not a good deal or value as it was very inconvenient. The car was handed over to me with the tire pressure warning light on. Rear tires extremely low. All maintenance items should be checked and taken care of before picking up the rental car.

When I booked the RSW Airport rental, the car was actually at the airport. Less than 30 miles away and then they charged me more than double what I originally paid. Terrible horrible experience. I would never book here again. So cheating.

When we made our reservation one of the questions was when our flight will arrive. So when we got to the airport, we went to the rental desk. After waiting about 20 minutes we were told that our rental was at an off site location. Not just outside, but 15 miles away!! There was an address on the confirmation but as we didn't live in ft Meyers we didn't realize the extreme remoteness of the place. After a $50 cab ride, we discovered the site was closed. They close at 5pm (we had said our flight arrived at 4:20pm). Not only did they not tell us they were off premises, but they also didn't tell us they were closing just minutes after we collected our luggage. Their customer service wanted to more than double our price because "we were rebooking or reserving"!!!

We don't often rent cars so we didn't realize that the car rental location isn't at the airport but because of the convenient location at the airport. The rental office had a sign saying they pick up and deliver. (?)

The pickup point was a 20 minute drive from the airport. We hadn't factored in the taxi fare from the airport and back to the airport. The landlord tried to sell me a damage waiver. I paid Kayak $72 to cover this - the agent told me I had been scammed. I will also report this to Kayak.

Very quick service. Not a hard sell of insurance products but nice to know they are available. Check in very quickly. Car has 100km on it with no smoke smell.

Ordered car for Ft Myers Airport but reservation was booked for another location in Ft Myers. The car ordered was not available so I was given an "upgrade". The upgraded vehicle had engine problems exiting the airport and had to turn back and swap out the vehicle. The wrong form was used during submission, which delayed processing. Eventually I was charged for a full tank when I refused at pickup and returned the car with a full tank. It was removed, but the whole process was an avalanche of problems. The ultimate car was nice and the staff was pleasant to deal with...but overall not a good experience.
